SafeSuite Survival System, Bullet Resistant Safe Rooms Without Major Construction

SafeSuite converts existing offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms into hardened safe zones by combining security glazing, bullet resistant wall panels, security doors, and protective furniture.

When an active threat is inside the building, the most important thing is a safe place to go, fast. SafeSuite converts the rooms your people already use into hardened safe zones that delay intrusion and protect occupants until help arrives, without costly full renovation.

Why Safe Zones Matter

Doors, glass doors, windows, and curtain walls are usually the first points an intruder exploits. A secure refuge space must delay forced entry long enough for police response and occupant survival. SafeSuite is designed to:

  • Delay and deter forced entry
  • Protect against ballistic attack
  • Maintain visibility and aesthetics
  • Integrate with existing buildings and emergency plans

SafeSuite Components

Reinforced Glass Protection

DefenseLite forced-entry shields are installed over existing glass in doors and curtain walls. BulletShield adds UL 752-rated ballistic glazing for executive suites and boardrooms.

Ballistic Wall Panels

Lightweight UL 752-rated panels integrate into existing walls to fortify corridors, reception areas, and safe-zone perimeters.

Secure Doors & Hardware

Bullet-resistant doors and forced-entry-resistant hardware designed for rapid lockdown and reliable operation under stress.

Safe Shutter™ & Safe Slideout™

Bullet-resistant whiteboards and slide-out panels that block an attacker's line of sight through windows and door lites.

Fortified Furniture

Bullet-resistant panels retrofit into existing desks and reception counters (UL 752 Level 3 or 8).

Mobile SafeShield™

A portable bullet-resistant shield (UL 752 Levels 1–8) that rotates 360° to create an instant defensive position.

Bullet-Resistant Wall Panel Specifications

DefenseLite bullet-resistant wall panels offer discreet, powerful protection. They're non-ricocheting (they capture the bullet), made with nontoxic materials with no formaldehyde, corrosion-resistant, and about 25% lighter than steel paneling. Panels can be field-fabricated, are suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and are available cut-to-size, paint-ready, and with urgent shipping options.

Panel Ballistic Level Nominal Thickness Nominal Weight Size
UL3 Panel UL 752 Level 3 1/2" 5 lbs/sq ft 4' x 8'
UL8 Panel UL 752 Level 8 1-1/2" 15.5 lbs/sq ft 4' x 8'

Safe Shutter™ and Safe Slideout™

Safe Shutter is a bullet-resistant whiteboard that obstructs an attacker's line of sight. In an emergency, it swings up to 180° to cover a window or door and create a defensive position. Features include a heavy-duty hinge, 0°–180° swing, a spring-loaded floor bolt with dust-proof floor strikes, multiple material options, and Ballistic Level 3–8.

Safe Slideout is an inconspicuous bullet-resistant panel that slides out to block a vision lite. It's available in UL 3 through UL 8, in any wood species, PLAM, or whiteboard finish, with heavy-duty slides.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SafeSuite?

SafeSuite is an integrated interior hardening and safe-room system. It combines forced-entry and ballistic glazing, framing, bullet-resistant doors, and wall panels to create protected shelter zones in new or existing interiors.

How is SafeSuite different from a panic room?

A panic room is a single isolated room. SafeSuite creates distributed shelter zones within the spaces people already occupy, such as offices, classrooms, and conference rooms, so people can shelter quickly wherever they are.

What standards can SafeSuite meet?

SafeSuite can be designed toward ASTM F3561, UL 752, NIJ 0108.01 where applicable, and IBC and local codes. Final performance depends on configuration, substrate, anchorage, and installation.

How long does a SafeSuite project take?

Timelines depend on the project. Typical ranges are 2–6 weeks for threat assessment and schematic design, 4–12 weeks for engineering and procurement, and phased installation to fit your schedule and occupancy.

Can SafeSuite be phased?

Yes. High-risk areas can be prioritized first, with additional rooms or floors added over time. SafeSuite scales from a single office to an entire floor or campus.
