DefenseLite® Pro is a patented security glazing system engineered for maximum forced-entry resistance. It installs over existing doors, windows, and storefronts to create a clear, impact-resistant barrier that attackers can't break through, even after the glass behind it shatters.
Advanced Forced-Entry Protection
DefenseLite Pro meets ASTM F3561 Level 8, the highest level of the standard for forced-entry resistance after a simulated active-shooter attack. It's built with high-optic, AR- and UV-coated polycarbonate and proprietary aluminum extrusions. DefenseLite Pro protects against smash-and-grab, riot, and vandalism threats while preserving architectural integrity, and its patented venting system ensures climate adaptability and cost-effective installation.

In comparative 5-aa1 testing, 1/4" tempered glass and 1" insulated tempered glass both failed after one shot. Tempered glass with security film failed after 20 brick impacts. DefenseLite Pro passed the ballistic impact, brick, steel-toed boot, and tool attacks and withstood 4 minutes and 5 seconds of continuous bat and sledgehammer assault before a breach, time that matters when police are on the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between DefenseLite and DefenseLite Pro?
DefenseLite Pro uses thicker, heavier polycarbonate and an extrusion about twice as thick as the original DefenseLite. That added mass reduces pillowing on the primary glass and gives the existing glass more protection. DefenseLite Pro is tested to ASTM F3561 Level 8.
Is DefenseLite Pro bulletproof?
DefenseLite Pro is a forced-entry product, not a ballistic rating. In 5-aa1 active-shooter testing the bullet penetrated but the glass stayed in place, and the system then resisted forced entry. For bullet resistance, choose BulletShield.
How does it attach to my windows?
Each system is custom-engineered to existing conditions. Panels are mounted with mechanical fasteners to the primary glazing frames using a proprietary vented aluminum extrusion.
Will it fog up between the shield and the glass?
DefenseLite Pro uses a patented, climate-specific venting system that lets the air gap breathe, reducing condensation and maintaining long-term system integrity.
Can DefenseLite Pro be removed?
Yes. Systems are engineered for removal if needed, and the primary glass remains in place underneath.
